The Bolechow Jewish Heritage Society is committed to preserving the Jewish heritage of Bolechow and the surrounding communities of what was the Galicia province of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (later of Poland, and now Ukraine). BJHS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, established in February 2007. The Society operates through a Board of Directors currently composed of eleven individuals with direct family roots in Bolechow or the nearby region.

We welcome your tax-deductible financial contributions as well as your input and participation in our activities.

Contribute Your Time and Your Research

For the literally thousands of people who are descended from Bolechow and the surrounding region, an electronic “visit” to the area may be the way they are able to experience what once was and what remains. So, this website is intended to provide the ability to see and experience the history, culture, and people who lived in the region. And we hope to reconnect “long lost cousins” and other relatives as the site and related links allow people from around the world to discover other ex-Bolechowers. The current site is just the beginning of what we hope will be a rich source of information and a lasting legacy.

We want the website to be a vibrant community and we welcome contributions to help us “tell our story”
